Game Time! AT&T Nation's Football Classic at RFK Stadium - Saturday

WE tv’s Tamar Braxton to sing national anthem prior to second annual Classic

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Events DC announced today that Tamar Braxton (“Braxton Family Values”), star of the upcoming WE tv reality series “TAMAR & VINCE” will sing the national anthem at the second annual AT&T Nation’s Football Classic™.

The first-ever spinoff for WE tv, “TAMAR & VINCE” also stars Braxton’s music mogul husband Vince Herbert, and premieres Thursday, Sept. 20 at a special time 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Pregame activities on the RFK Stadium field begin at 3:20 p.m. Rising musical artist and D.C. native Y’Anna Crawley will sing “Lift Every Voice” and D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Gray and T.J. Holmes, host of BET Networks show “Don’t Sleep,” join together to perform the ceremonial coin toss.

The halftime show includes the highly anticipated “Battle of the Bands” between the Morehouse College House of Funk and the Howard University Showtime Marching Band.

AT&T Nation’s Football Classic kickoff: 3:35 p.m.

The Pepsi® Fan Festival, a free festival with music, games, food and exhibit booths, is open on the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds (Lot 5) from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The non-stop extravaganza includes performances by music artists Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Black Alley Band, Naj Murph & Sweet Release and Marcus Canty, and appearances by actors Laz Alonso and Lamman Rucker. Other Fan Festival activities include giveaways, food trucks, appearances by local radio stations and Morehouse and Howard alumni gathering tents. 

This year’s football game between Morehouse and Howard is Saturday, Sept. 1 at 3:30 p.m. at RFK Stadium. Tickets are on sale now at the RFK Stadium Box Office , Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets and the Howard University Box Office at Cramton Auditorium. Seats are priced $25 to $50.

As part of game day activities, State Farm will upgrade five lucky fans to one-of-a-kind on-field seats. The promotion titled “Get to A Better State” will give the selected fans the opportunity to view the game from the State Farm On-Field Deck (each fan can bring one guest to the upgraded seat). The Deck is directly on the field, at the rear of an end zone. Ticketed fans who visit State Farm’s booth during the Pepsi® Fan Festival can enter for a chance to “Get to A Better State.” The State Farm On-Field Deck also includes complimentary food and soft drinks for the lucky upgraded fans.
